The company, with registered head office located in Villanueva de Gallego, Spain, is a group engaged in the distribution of pharmaceutical products primarily in Spain. The company comprise 13 operating companies which are all active in pharmaceutical distribution. Safa Galenica is an active private company which was founded in 1919 as Sociedad Anónima Farmacéutica Aragonesa (SAFA) by a group of pharmacists from Zaragosa. It is one of the leaders in the pharmaceutical distribution industry in Spain. It has market operations in the Teruel, Huesca, Tarragona, Zaragoza, and Segovia provinces and it has more than 30 stores that distributes to approximately 9,000 pharmacies.
